Reston, Virginia: A New Town
The permanent Reston Museum exhibit examines the history of Reston, a planned community in Northern Virginia. The central message of the exhibit is that Reston is a unique and innovative community that changed the face of the suburban landscape in America; its founding principles (goals), master plan and landmark zoning ordinance became a model for planning and development in America during the second half of the 20th century and beyond, revolutionizing living patterns in urban and suburban communities alike.
