Code of Conduct

We want all visitors to restonmuseum.org to feel welcomed and to be treated respectfully. All users of our website must adhere to the following code of conduct:

  • Users must not be rude to, mean to, harass, or threaten other users including the creators of our website.

  • Users must not use profanity or inappropriate language. 

  • Users must not use restonmuseum.org for advertising purposes including commenting or linking to outside content 

  • Users must be honest.

  • Users must be respectful.

  • Users must not upload or link to inappropriate content including inappropriate. information, pictures, and/or outside websites. 

  • Users must be over 18 to participate in the online forum or purchase items off of our website. 

  • Users must not conduct illegal activity on restonmuseum.org including infringing copyright, divulging confidential information, or misrepresent one's identity. 

  • Users must not compromise the security or integrity of restonmuseum.org or any of the users of our website.

  • Users must not post or transmit spam.

  • Each user may only create one account, users cannot create multiple accounts.

  • Users must not post copyrighted material unless it belongs to you.

  • Users must not sell, sublicense and/or otherwise commercialize any Website material

  • Users must not engage in any data mining, data harvesting, data extracting or any other similar activity in relation to this website, or while using this website.

  • This community is a supportive and inclusive space and the discussions and comments here are meant to stimulate conversation. Let others have their say, just as you may, and treat them as you yourself would want to be treated. Don't be abusive or attack or harass others.

If the above guidelines are not adhered to, users may be removed or banned from restonmuseum.org or from using any of the forums or interactive content on our webpage restonmuseum.org. Any comments deemed inappropriate or that do not adhere to the above guidelines can be removed at any time by the Reston Historic Trust & Museum. We strive to preserve freedom of expression as much as possible.
