Opened in 1971, this innovative, earth-sheltered school was designed by the architecture firm of Charles M. Goodman Associates of Washington, D.C. Construction took place from 1970-71 by Burrows and Preston, Inc. Renovation took place between 2003 and 2006. A garden was created at the school to honor Reginann “Gena” Rohlfs,  a former Forest Edge teacher and resident zoologist and gardener.
