11/2020- Reston Historic Trust & Museum has received $10,000 from the Virginia Tourism Corporation’s (VTC) Recovery Marketing Leverage Program (RMLP), designed to help local and regional tourism entities attract more visitors by leveraging limited local marketing dollars through a local match of the state grants funds.

The Reston Historic Trust & Museum will showcase limited edition prints created by local artist Sam LaFever November through April 2021 at the Reston Museum located on Lake Anne Plaza. The “Lake Life Series” depicts the beauty of Reston’s planned lakes while describing some of the ways we use the lakes for relaxation, fishing, boating, and water sports. Sam LaFever is an artist, mariner, printmaker, creator of drawings, paintings, intaglio, and digital prints. He has been creating and exhibiting art since 1995. View the artwork and learn about how these prints are created using the digital serigraph technique. Artwork is available for purchase inside the museum.

We hope you will join Public Art Reston and the Reston Museum for an art-filled lunchtime virtual "walking" tour of a selection of outdoor sculptures found around the Lake Anne Village Center! Rain or shine, we will have a close look, share stories and answer questions about these fascinating public art treasures, all while maintaining a safe distance.

Join us for a round table discussion between several Reston community organizations that are celebrating significant anniversaries in 2020. Learn about how organizations such as Reston Community Center, Cornerstones, Herndon-Reston FISH, Reston Garden Club, The Walker Nature Center, Reston Chorale, and Reston Community Players have evolved over the years and the impact they have had on the community. Program will take place at the Jo Ann Rose Gallery Reston Community Center Lake Anne at 7 p.m. on March 11, 2020. Program is free and open to the public. Programs of the Reston Historic Trust & Museum are supported in part by the Reston Community Center.

2019 Year in Review
What a year! We had over 8,000 visitors to the museum and our events, 46 commemorative bricks were installed at Lake Anne Plaza, displayed 13 exhibits including temporary exhibits at the Reston Regional Library, over 2000 volunteer hours donated, 449 artifacts cataloged and we participated in 31 events and programs! We can't wait for 2020!
